The City of Oakland Call Center has received this issue. It is registered as service request #746026. Please check back for status updates, or contact us directly at 510-615-5566.
Please also contact the PWD call center 615-5566 for faster service. Also let them know this is blocking the road. I believe this happened Friday night and has been reported several times. Oakland PWD had garbage trucks out Sat morning in the Dimond that could of dealt with this.
Any chance of catching these pigs red-handed? This is a disgusting attitude about society. I'd like to see them nabbed and fined. There must be envelopes of other identifying mail in the pile.
Waste operators should set up transfer stations to receive these large bulky items- charge a small fee like $10. I have things a bit too big for the trash bin, but not worth driving to Hayward and paying $40 for. If I didn't care about the neighborhood I would be tempted to dump too.
Illegal dumping in Oakland is currently a civil crime requiring a citizen or citizens with hard evidence to agree to testify. Photos/videos of the illegal dumpers/ license plates bare minimum. Circumstantial evidence is not enough. People who witness illegal dumping can contact the Law Corps 238-6517 lawcorps@oaklandcityattorney.org They do offer rewards but the whole process is fairly daunting. I have done this twice.
