The street lights in this case are installed and maintained by Duke Energy according to the national standard for street lighting in a residential area. This concern will be (re)evaluated and if sub-standard lighting is found at this location, the City will place a Work Request with Duke Energy for additional lighting. If the lighting is found to be in line with these standards no additional lighting will be placed.

The lighting in this area was found to be consistent with the national standard for street lighting in a residential area. Most street lights are spaced 150' - 200' feet apart. There is a street light 80' north of the centerline of 82nd Terrace at the area of concern. We will schedule a tree trimming crew to remove some of the Oak tree between the street light and the corner in order to cast some of the light to the south. No additional street lights will be installed at this location.
