I really don't like the color blue as our sky. Can you see what you can do to change the color of our sky to maybe a nice purple....cmon people. Stop using this site for issues that are as stupid as this one. What do you expect to be done about this? Do you think our town manager can call the FAA and ask that all the planes routes get rerouted over a different city?

Unfortunately, the City has no control over airport noise. You can call Massport to complain, and they do have a noise complaint line to track such complaints. But, having been a chief executive of two cities directly impacted by Logan, I can say with some experience that not much is likely to change despite ongoing complaints. Tom Ambrosino, City Manager.

Runway expansion has been fought for years by various Governors and municipalities. I believe the last two runways took over 30 years to become reality. The noise was predicted and inevitable. A noise abatement study has recently been completed and is 94 pages long.

Unfortunately given the most recent data, there are very few options for those directly impacted by aircraft noise. I can only conclude that the best option is to move to a community that is much less impacted by aircraft noise.

I use to call the complaint line but gave up in frustration. The sound from the airport would start at midnight and continue well beyond 2:00 am. If you call, make sure you have the date and the time. Keep a log of phone calls too. A few years ago MASSport had a community meeting at afacility near the Polish pol. club. Of coiurse there is no parking and the day of the meeting was Do not park day. One person from the community was there. The peple who ran the meeting came late. Waste of time!

Don't live near an airport. This post can't be serious. You live with a mile of so of a major international airport. The noise can't be controlled.

Those of you that don't live here, in the direct path don't know it's gotten much much worse lately. It was periodic before. Bad weather only. That's when I purchased here. Now its everyday, every night. Because Tom has been in another city and fought this he won't do anything now for us. I've never seen anything organized to fight this especially since the FAA made the change to allow all planes to go over the same flight route every 2 minutes. The South Shore has their representative Steven Lynch very active in their fight. I'm assuming we are getting more of their traffic seeing it's worse here. I see nothing for the North Shore being done. Things can be changed. When all give up the FAA continues to do what it wants and pays the towns off but the individuals most impacted can suck wind. Maybe the FAA should buy us all out or the town should give those of us that have lost in property values the money they get from Logan.
I'll leave this forum and continue in others.

The noise level over my house got worse when they diverted more plane to Runway 23, which is also used in bad weather.

This is not the forum for this kind of thing. If you have an issue then go to city council meeting. This site is suppose to be for potholes and broken lights and things if that sort

This issue of airport noise is a significant public policy problem and not one that can be "fixed" on a site such as this. This site is best utilized for small, non-emergency issues that the City's internal departments can address in a reasonable timeframe. For that reason alone, which has nothing to do with the substance of the matter, I am closing this issue.

Hi - as has been said previously, this is not the forum for this kind of problem, with which we all sympathize. Complaints regarding airplane noise should be addressed by calling Massport's Noise Complaint Line at (617) 561-3333. I strongly urge everyone to call the line or fill in the form regularly. The only way anyone - from our elected officials to Massport - will take our complaints and concerns seriously is if there are the numbers to back it up. May data has not come out yet but according to MassDOT, Chelsea had only 8 complaints in April 2017 and 16 complaints from Jan-Apr 2017. I would expect that number to be greater. Milton has the most complaints as there were 3,921 complaints in April 2017.

I think we should take the city manager's advice and report disturbing noise to the complaint line, but be prepared for questions Time of disturbance, date, and date reported. Also keep a log of phone calls with the date you called in the complaint. Good luck!
