Description
Ever since they re-blacktopped 79th, this light is constantly switching even though there is no one on 79th to trigger the pressure plate. Please get this repaired. Obviously the repair crew messed up the plate that told the signal someone was waiting on 79th

Hi,
Per the Mayor's Action Center, this issue is considered archived. They posted this:
Update from Traffic Signals: the detection loops are temporarily out of service while the resurfacing project at the intersection is completed. At that time they will be reinstated to full service. Until then, Traffic Ops will look into shortening the timing of the left turn signal to help alleviate the problem you have reported. Thanks, Mayor's Action Center
I would like more information regarding the reason for putting off fixing this because it is a real pain in the neck. It wastes both time and fuel waiting for this light for what seems like no good reason. In the past, I would catch this light red maybe one in ten times going through. It now feels more like I have to stop 50% of the time.
Could the Mayor's Action Center please respond with the reason behind not fixing this sooner?

What say you Pavement and Traffic? The courtesy of a reply would be greatly appreciated. We all simply want to know why you're making us wait at a light unnecessarily.
Thanks, Lee

The Traffic Signal Coordinator manually adjusted the timing to allow Central Avenue (main street) to have more green timing until the loops are repaired.
