Parks and Rec trim trees for the City, but only when they impede the right-of-way or otherwise present a public safety hazard. If the tree is touching power or utility lines then the company who placed them are responsible and they need to be contacted directly. If it does not fall under those situations it is the responsibility of the homeowner to maintain vegetation.
Parks and Rec can be reached by calling 727-893-7441 if it sounds like it is an issue for them. Thanks, Mayor's Action Center
id like consistent information. I was told last year that st pete now picks up tree trimmings and the category above is "Tree Trimming/Removal". So, being disabled, I have placed tree trimmings there many times. last year and earlier this year. Each was picked up after I listed it on seeclickfix. However, this last bunch of Tree Trimmings each time that I list it, it is acknowledged but never picked up. So, i have seeclickfix listed it several times and asked why, but this is the 1st response that I got. thank you and please look into this and remove it from the category, if it's no longer available.
Sorry, the issue was misunderstood. This category is usually used for City trimming or removal of trees themselves. The picking up of brush is for the Sanitation Department, and this was forwarded to them from the previous reports on 12/2 and 12/22. You can contact special pickup/brush collection by calling 727-893-7398 to check on the status. We will also forward it to them again and we apologize for the inconvenience. Sincerely, Mayor's Action Center.
Use the category Sanitation Department, although usually in the description of the issue we can tell what the issue is and get it to the correct Department. Was the other trash you reported (5 gallon bucket, etc) collected? Outside of weather emergencies or other unique circumstances brush collection goes through a different process than other trash collection. There is a charge per cubic yard of brush and due to that the process can take longer than normal. You can read more about it on the website below:
yes to Was the other trash you reported (5 gallon bucket, etc) collected?
i cant afford this and it is not listed on clickfix: There is a charge per cubic yard of brush and due to that the process can take longer than normal.
and i cant afford that. and the other times I was not charged.
The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews past reports that are made from citizens within our city limits, and in an effort to clean-up old issues that were resolved some time ago, we are marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
If you think for any reason that the issue you submitted in the past might still be unresolved, please feel free to submit a new report with the SeeClickFix St. Pete website and we will make sure the issue is directed to the appropriate City department to be addressed as soon as possible.
