Description

Road signage is ineffective for inappropriate semi traffic around Baker Street. During the last snowstorm, several trucks came to a complete stop in the center of the road because of traction, and one had to be given extensive directions by another driver. Families raise their children and children are going to Howe school on Baker street, and this is creating a dangerous situation, since many of these trucks travel through on a daily basis and at speeds exceeding 30-35 mph. This is not a truck route and is laughable at the idea of this happening on any other residential road. How much money did the city spend on the bike lane that no one uses on Baker street, including dozens of signs marking that - when perhaps the dozens of wide-turning semis crossing the bike lane and hitting curbs on Baker throughout the day contribute to it not being used. Many of these drivers willingly ignore the law on a consistent basis, but I know many are lost due to inadequate signage.
