Description
The sidewalk on Lincoln Terrace was so icy today that I slipped and couldn't get up or down the hill to drop off or pick up my kid from Summit Street School. I was forced to walk in the street with my student and younger child, which really doesn't feel safe when it has such a high volume of traffic at school drop off and pick up times. This sidewalk seems to be a perennial issue. It is right next to the road, which makes it ice up more quickly and also poses a safety risk when it is icy because if you slip, you are right in the path of vehicles. Lots of Summit and even Fleming students need to use this sidewalk every day and in the winter it oftentimes, such as today, feels complete unsafe. I hope that the sidewalk crews can give it a little extra attention.
