In your expert opinion you have decided that this is perfectly fine bike lane width. Do you have the authority to dictate was is an appropriate bike lane width? You are degrading someone's legitimate concern. The issue has been answered, but the underlying safety issue is still unresolved.

To be clear, not only is the bike lane obstructed, but even worse the sidewalk is non-existent presently. I hope restoration comes with the expiry of the permit, otherwise the city can follow up with the contractor ASAP.
DPW, thank you for the Excavation Inspector's contact information.
burlingtonresident2012, I think the relatively large number of votes for this issue shows that many Burlingtonians care about this issue. Please do not try to dismiss our experiences. Once the contractor actually rectifies the temporary situation everyone will be glad to have the issue closed. Thanks for understanding.

Yea, today it looked like they were trenching for the new ingress curbing, but tonight still nothing constructed. It is concerning that this is dragging on so long (weeks now, well before I reported it) since soon we won't be able to pour the concrete and lay the asphalt. It would NOT BE OK for it to be in this condition all winter.
Please work with the contractor to expedite this work and have it completed ASAP.

Observation from this morning: Curbing is cast, grading and leveling for new driveway in progress, signage is much more complete in comparison to last week. Cones still blocking bike lane (but there is a traffic merge sign now) Contractor is 5 days past the end date of the permit.
Hope this is going to be done before the end of this week.
