There has been no change on this issue and the same bikes remain locked without any movement everyday, overnight without use and extremely limiting the legitimate bike parking availability. Mark the bikes to see if they have been moved. Chalk the tires to see if any movement has taken place in 24 hours - 48 hours even.

The city has some liability for taking bikes that are not truly abandoned. The DPW will mark these bikes next week then check after a few days.

No Change. The city can determine abandoned bike very easily by regular marking of tire or with stickers. Bikes still have NOT been marked. Bikes continue to remain untouched for months. Some without wheels. What responsibility does the city have to insure this location does not become a dumping ground and long term parking spot.

2 weeks since verified official said DPW will mark these bikes. Still no change. No chalking of tires. No tagging of abandoned bikes. Same bikes remain without wheels. Same bikes remain in the exact same location, not moved for months. DPW should look into keeping this location free of abandoned property and creating an eyesore and using valuable bike parking space.

NOTHING DONE.
Same bikes with flat tires, NEVER MOVED for 2 months and the city cannot assist on this. This is a center of urban activity with no oversight. People are using this spot to dump bikes without any clean up on the part of the city as of yet.

these bike have NEVER moved for 2 months. completely FLAT tires. Just one example of bikes left without city managing the space for the rest of us.

I should correct my comments....the tricycle and bike next to it in the middle are the bikes left without air in the tires for 2 months.

No Change from the above photos. Same bikes in the EXACT same position as photographed 10 days ago. Tires are flat. Also, have not seen ANY tagging of other abandoned bikes.

These bicycles have NEVER been moved since first reported. All tires are flat. This takes up space for people needing to park bikes because of legitimate reasons (commuting to the PATH/shopping in the area)

Also, when the "Farmer's Market" or "Groove on Grove" events are set up in the plaza, these abandon bikes are even more of a hazard; as they partially block the limited pathways during these events.

Abandoned bikes were given warnings this morning that in 10 days bikes would be removed.

Has been FIVE MONTHS since the original notice and these bikes are STILL in the EXACT SAME SPOT. 12 days since the above 10 day warning was issued. bikes are still in place. flat tires. never moved. taking valuable space for others wishing to park in the Grove St PATH.

Day 10 was Saturday. So today would be the first day to address this. They are beginning to removed the bikes at this moment. I am expecting a follow up email upon completion.

12 Bikes were removed so far. More warnings have been issued.

This is great news! The entire space appears less littered with abandoned bikes and for the first time in a long time citizens are using spaces previously used by forgotten bikes. I sincerely hope enforcement for this bike area is consistent. It really looks great! Thank you...I would be happy to have this issue closed and considered resolved. Regards.....

Thanks for the response. Based on that, I am going to close this out. The DPW will periodically monitor this area.
