Agree. I understand Uber will not pick up unless off the island. Makes no sense.

happytrls2@juno.com, our City Clerk reports that the city actually doesn't prohibit Uber. Those interested in providing the service need to fill out the paperwork as a vehicle for hire, under Chapter 78 of the Code of Ordinances. Uber has blocked Venice since they haven’t gone through the process. The applications are handled through the clerk's office. Hope this helps.
