Description
There is a creek that runs behind my property which is maintained by the city. The creek bank has eroded significantly. The rain fro Hurricane Matthew caused further erosion and caused two trees to fall across the creek.

I would like to know if the city received my request and whether there is intent to fix this. I know the hurricane caused a lot of damage and this issue is far down the list of priorities, but I would appreciate confirmation that the issue is recognized and will be addressed.
Thank you.

Mr. Taylor, Stormwater Management staff reviewed this location and reported that it doesn’t appear that the rootball is posing a significant immediate threat to the stream channel and that is well away from any habitable structures. Overall, the entire stream segment does demonstrate areas of urban stream erosion and channel incisement. Specific to this particular location, there is very little vegetative cover on the banks, which are also contributing to conditions. Please be advised that staff will continue to monitor conditions over time should they worsen and that you are encouraged to call Stormwater Management directly to discuss this further: 919-996-3940. I would encourage you to ask for Dominick Smalls, Chris Stanley, or Blair Hinkle.
SeeClickFix is generally not well suited for stormwater issues due to their inherent complexity, but it is a good resource to initiate conversations with staff that may need to escalate to a personal phone call. I hope this is helpful.
