Description
The campaign signs planted on the traffic island at this intersection almost completely obscure visibility of oncoming traffic for cars turning left to enter the Eastern Prom. The Ben Chipman sign is the largest of them all and is the one that blocks the view. I've had two close encounters with oncoming cars that I coujld not see while attempting to turn left. This is DANGEROUS!...this intersection is an inappropriate place for distractive political campaigning...safety should take precedence. Please remove all political signage from this site. Thank you.

The crossing is used by many school children who are more obstructed because they are shorter and harder to see.

Enter the Washington Ave exit. from Tukey's Bridge heading south. The first left is the intersection of Washington Ave. and the Eastern Prom. There's an island dividing the crosswalk there. That's where the huge Ben Chipman signage blocks the view of oncoming traffic...try making that left turn in a small car that's low to the ground. Because of the sign blocking the view there you can't see the oncoming traffic until you're already partially in their lane. Even tho' the speed limit is 25 mph, many cars have already begun to accelerate as they prepare to enter 295 N. where the speed limit is 50.
Removing the political signage from the traffic island at the Washington Ave - Eastern Prom intersection might save a life. Why would anyone be allowed to create a traffic visibility obstruction for any reason at all??? This is thoughtless disregard for public safety.
