Description
The repaving of Park Blvd has been postponed.
Meanwhile, Park Blvd is full of potholes.
The only safe way to ride down Park Blvd below 580 is to take the entire lane.
Perhaps bike sharrows would reduce the angry drivers who yell that I should get out of the way. Probably not, but it is worth a try. It will also encourage cyclists to take the lane, which increases their safey.

Hi.
My name is Toby. I take care of Park Garden Park and Cleveland. Like many others I've railed at the city to do something about this street situation.
Last Monday morning my partner and love of my life was hit and run in the crosswalk between our apartment and the garden. She suffered a serious concussion a broken knee and other wounds. I can barely contain my anger I have felt over the last week and if there is one thing that will result in this is this street will get improved and quickly.
The council person has set an 8 officer team twice in the last week to issue citations but this is a Band-Aid fix. Short-term solutions include painting the extremely faded crossings and adding signs at crosswalks that do not have them.
I'm going to place my contact info here for those that want to get together and build a coalition to address this interactive ways and possibly with some gorilla art action. If you're on Facebook look for the group Park & Cleveland - Community Hub.

Previously, Park Blvd was due to be paved earlier than 2018. I don't remember the original year.
Dave Campbell, from Bike East Bay, mentioned the delay.
It does give us more time to organize, but I haven't done much organizing lately.
I hope that 2018 is still the date for repaving.

TWO MEETINGS ON PARK THIS WEEK, WED & THURSDAY. SAME CONTENT AT BOTH MEETINGS.
Please be sure to show up for the upper Park meeting as well, since their will always be more voices on the upper side of the 580 than the lower side.

Please give us an update after the meeting. I have to miss the meetings this time, but I'll catch up later. Thanksgiving has already started.
I have heard some objections from the Glenview crowd, but some support as well.
Safety versus speed.

Traffic numbers say that there is only a short stretch of Park above 580 which is crowded for an hour or two.
I share the lane with cars frequently, and occasionally get threats yelled at me through the windows of passing cars.
As Toby and others have said.. 25mph speed limit. Real speed 35-40, sometimes more.

No, I don't believe that there are sharrows on Park Blvd.
Please include the photos if I am wrong.
