Ever since the new light adjustment has gone in at the intersection of maple and scio church rd, the traffic has been horrendous especially during peak travel times. I have been driving down this street every day usually about 6 times a day for 9 years, and never had any issues until the new light timers were put in by the bridge. I have watched 4 near accidents in the last week! along with road rage, people yelling out their windows at each other, cars driving over curb to try and get ahead. The timing of the light needs to be addressed, there is an issue.

I've experienced the same thing. After picking up my children from Tutor Time on Oak Valley and trying to get home on Scio Church just East of Covington. Most always I'm traveling this route after 6pm. The last few weeks have seen what used to be a 3 minute trip take 5 minutes, and twice last week it took 10 minutes! AFTER 6pm, meaning after rush hour. Cars backed up on Oak Valley to the Library, and once to the hospice. I can't imagine how long the back up is lasting between 5 and 6 pm!
I've noticed the light rarely lets more than 6 or 10 cars through on green - unless everyone is moving fast and keeping right on each other's bumpers (a recipe for an accident). It seems to me that as soon as it "sees" a gap in the moving traffic the light sensor assumes there are no more cars. The sensor is especially quick to change the light during rain, as if it doesn't "see" any cars when wet.
