Description

I was driving along Oakland Mills Road the other night and nearly hit a pedestrian who was walking on Oakland Mills Road near the intersection with Farewell.
A new house is being built to the east of that intersection. A sidewalk is to the north of the property, and a sidewalk is to the south. No connecting sidewalk has ever been placed on the property where the new house is being built.
A number of people walk on the road in front of that property. When they are walking on the sidewalk, it suddenly ends so they step out onto the road and walk along it before getting back on the sidewalk in front of the Ecker’s Hollow subdivision.
This is a dangerous situation. The person I nearly hit was wearing dark clothing and I didn’t see him until I was almost beside him.
People shouldn’t have to walk in the road to avoid walking on a path in front of the house being constructed. The path is often muddy and overgrown with weeds.
Thank you so much for any help you can give to have a sidewalk installed at this location.
