Description
This apartment and water meter infront of the AmPm has been leaking water for months. It is a leak in the water meter or worse it is the sewer. Though it doesn't smell. This leak is wasting a lot of water. It is visible at three points on the sidewalk. Please get edmud to check it out. We can't waste water like this.

So I have meant to get back to this issue. I actually had a very good experience with EBMUD. I emailed and after a month, I got a phone call from someone at EBMUD, I explained my issue to her and she said that they would send out a truck to check it out. I heard nothing for a few weeks, but got a call back from the same woman. She said the truck didn't find a leak. I re-explained where the leak was and she said they were looking about a half block too far down park.
Well, she came out to the location herself and tested the water.
When she called back, I was stunned with how detailed her explanation was.
She said the water had no chlorine/chloramine in it, which means it was not coming from a tap water leak.
She tested it for other substances that ruled out a sewer leak. And finally the mineral content implicated that this was just a natural spring that is surfacing at the edge of the AmPm
there were a lot more details she said that her testing did to rule out that the leaks were coming from any building or the gas station.
Her response was clear, scientific and utterly convincing. She probably called me back about 4 times over the course of EBMUD looking into it.
I wish I had written down her name to thank her specifically in this issue.
you can't stop a natural spring, and the algae living in the runoff are lucky and likely be there for a long while.
