Description
Related to tickets 1757403 and 1826570. Resident said heavy rains dislodge large football sized rocks from the storm drain and into the road, partially blocking the road. Resident wants something done to keep the rocks in place. Our staff had previously commented, "this is runoff coming from private property." Resident wants to talk with us about options/solutions.

This is now in the hands of Engineering. They DO NOT have See Click Fix.
Thank you for contacting the Howard County DPW Bureau of Highways. This issue is now closed in Tell HoCo. If you require more information, please contact Department of Public Works Highways office 410-313-7450.

All, please be advised that Highways met with Engineering on site. (April 4, 2016) Engineering is working on a more permanent solution as described above. Highways will continue to make interim repairs as needed. This project could take up to a year but it is on our radar. If you would like to speak with me in person on the current status, please call or email me directly and I will be happy to assist you. JBarker@HowardCountyMD.gov or call 410-313-7249. Our Engineering department does not see these SeeClickFix request.
Thank you
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for the latest update on SeeClickFix related to the Riprap, erosion and road deterioration on Lime Kiln road.
Since the Engineering department does not see the SeeClickFix request, Is it possible to get the name, number and email address of the person in the Engineering department who is responsible for handling this matter.
Although we are appreciative that the Engineering department is working on a more permanent solution, there has been no timeline communicated as to when this solution would be implemented, and the immediate concern over the deteriorated road surface really needs to be addressed in the near term.
Thanks
Dave Sherry

Mr. Sherry,
I spoke with the Engineering department who say they have been in touch with everyone. I'm closing the issue out for current maintenance as there is no work to be done by County Highway's. If something should change and you need to contact us to investigate, please don't hesitate to call us.
Thank you for your patience!
Regards
Jim

Jim,
Please reopen this ticket. We were told that there would be warm weather road repairs to the deteriorating road surface. There remains a portion of the road that spans across the entire road surface that is is very poor condition requiring drivers to slow down. It is my understanding that Engineering is working on the longer term solution and that County Highways is responsible for repairing the immediate issues. Please reopen and have someone repair the road surface. Thank you, David Sherry

Mr. Sherry,
Highways has no plans to do any road work, unless an immediate emergency pops up, part of the plan by our Engineering group is to raise the paved surface in the effected flooding zone.

Jim
