Raleigh Police Department is looking into the speeding on St. Albans. We will check with Public Works about making the crosswalk at St. Albans and State more visible.

Just a comment, but the vehicles parked on the street can make it very hard to see. I think the speed limit there is 35 but even that feels dangerous at times due to parked cars obstructing view.

At least one parking space on the southwest corner of St. Albans Drive and Martket at North Hills Street needs to be eliminated to improve sight distance and safety.

Yes, I agree with the parking comment. Coupled with the construction signs, it's difficult to see.

The crosswalk marking across St. Albans is what Traffic Engineers refer to as a mid-block crosswalk. This means that regardless if it is at or near an intersection, there is no traffic control devices to stop vehicular traffic. These markings give pedestrians a false sense of security and are not recommended for use by the Federal Highway Administration, NCDOT or the City. Staff believe this one was installed as part of the private development and not caught in the plan reviews. Since it is out there, City staff will investigate the crossing and ensure that adequate signing delineates this pedestrian crossing. Since the signs used at this type of crossing do not stop traffic, conflicts with vehciles still may occur.Staff would highly suggest crossing at the signalize intersection of Dartmouth 250’ away which has robust traffic control devices to ensure a safer crossing.

If that is the case, could you please fix the street lights all the way down Dartmouth starting from Six Forks? I counted at least 6 not working this morning at 6am. They have replaced several at the bottom of the hill on Dartmouth that have really improved visibility. Starting at 207 Dartmouth al the way to Six Forks several are not working.
