Other residents and I feel this is an ongoing issue with oil leak...can you route this to the proper authorities as it is very unsightly to our neighborhood that we are trying to clean up in Central Oak Park. Can't a city official at least talk to them about situation and hearing it from an official just saying that if it continues to get worse the association will report to Florida Dept. TY.

You said association so is there a HOA?

It is more of a neighborhood Association kind of like Kenwood has. Our neighborhood is called Central Oak Park and you can check it out on facebook or Google name. There are monthly Porch Parties to get to know your neighbors, monthly Association Meetings at the Main Library on 9th Avenue (part of association district), the association is very inexpensive to join...I believe it is $20.00 per year. The board and other volunteers schedule guest speakers, always have the police officer at meeting who gives a monthly update on situations in our neighborhood, special grants are applied for to city etc. to help beautify our neighborhood and much more. Check the site on the next meeting or Porch Party and please join in.

Update from the Codes Compliance Department: as previously stated, this isn't an issue for which Codes would cite, nor is there any other City department that would be involved with removing a small oil/grease stain from an automobile. You are free to contact the FDEP, however they are not likely to respond to a minor spill such as the one pictured:

To us this is not a minor spill and you can see their tire marks bringing more oil onto street. We feel this is dangerous...especially when it rains and we have so many people speeding and cutting through our street at rush hour to get to 5th Ave. N. to go west. We have children on this street...we have also wondered how we can get speed bumps due to this speeding through our neighborhood...We think you would have more clout to contact FDEP then we would...if you still do not want to give us any assistance to this issue we want to contact the mayor's office direct. Also what would be the proper FDEP # to report all of this if you still want to pass the buck...sorry but we have had to make numerous complaints about this resident renting this house over the last few months (please check your records on this address 3450 6th Ave. N. 33713...TY
