There have to be major codes compliance issues beyond the dock at this house. The backyard is an overgrown jungle with rats and critters rampant. I have been told by two neighbors that they have approached the owner of the home and offered to clean it up, but have been refused by the owner. Someone really should do something about this. I can only imagine the conditions in the house in which this elderly woman lives.
Additionally, I have had multiple people over to quote me on replacing my boat lift and each and every one of them comments on the hazard that this dock falling into the canal creates for boaters and nearby homeowners and their investment in their property, docks, etc.
Update from the Codes Compliance Department: In order for a Codes investigator to respond to an issue or complaint about something that cannot be legally viewed from the street, alley, or other public right-of-way, the owner of an adjacent property who can view the violation would need to call Codes directly at 727-893-7373, give their name and contact information as part of the public record for the case, and agree to allow the investigator to visit and view the issue from their property. If the reporter of this issue chooses to do so, please call Codes so that we may open a case and assign an investigator. Thank you for your post.
