Description
Fresh Paving job has been undermined by a strip cut to add I believe a speed hump to the last section of Spring St. The length of the street is not long enough to warrant speeding. If coming from the South cars have either just turned or just started from the stop sign and have to begin slowing down just past the location of the hump (anyway) for the next stop sign.
Those coming from the North will find the speed hump about 1.5-2 car lengths from the stop sign. If there is already a car at the sign the 2nd car will be practically coming to a stop with their rear wheels on the hump.
Let's not do any more to add distractions and obstacles for drivers and cyclists, and to add any more stress to any vehicle from bike to snowplow.

So the speed hump is to stop people who run stop signs?
Anyone who wants to speed over a speed hump can. Even better in an SUV or truck. I feel that no one drives a standard transmission anymore. I have to slip my clutch to make it from the stop sign to the speed hump to my driveway.
We can't make the world fail safe, but we might as well make it as inconvenient as possible as we try.
