Description

They are back, back, back, back, and back again. They just moved from Cal Tran side of the fence to Oakland City Sidewalk. Back are also the the filth, garbage, and drugs. This is a game they truly know how to play and Oakland is at a lost what to do about it. The question begs, "Would an Oakland Civic Leader tolerate a tent encampment on their block of residence?" Moreover, would they be as tolerant as us to have these encampments to move back and forth a few feet? Collectively are we not County of Alameda tax payers in good standings? Collectively do we have any rights? Aren't they violating any City Codes? Are they not blocking a City Street and impeding pedestrian's right of passage?

First they are violating muni-codes 9.08.160 Siting or lying on street or sidewalk, 9.08170 Obstructing pedestrians and probably 9.08.180 Alcoholic beverages on public street. Stolen shopping carts and waste management bins. The city needs to find a space for these people and get them off the streets.

Yesterday 8/4/15 they were removed from the fenced area by Caltrans who by the way didn't remove all the garbage. They relocated outside of the fence where my neighbors have to walk on the opposite side of the street because they are totally blocking the sidewalk with their filth. They are becoming a nuisance to the area. I dread driving by because it is on my LAST NERVE! !!!!

What the heck are city leaders doing? This cat and mouse game is costing thousands and thousands to clean up the same spots over again. Some solution is better than not trying anything. A lot somewhere, potties and washrooms. Maybe in front of city hall where city leaders can look at them all day. Apparently Ms McElhaney doesn't live near an encampment . Quit with the excuses.

They already moved inside the fence I saw 8/3/15 when I passing, I think these group people they have income $1200.00/mo. but they still don't rent a place to live just live in the tent. -> They are young people. - I knew one of the homeless Wendy Jackson she is under #ssi has income but she likes to sleep in the tent on the street.

If they get $1200 a month, there is something very wrong with our system. I have no problem with them sleeping on the streets, just that they abuse the rules of this city and camp where they please that's out of control. I kinda find it hard to believe the 1200 dollar payout.

All the city leaders need to step down . I don't care about the political view. The homeless are out of control. Right now they run this city. It makes no sense that they are cleaned up and allowed back, wasting thousands of dollars of taxpayers money. Where are the rights of the rest of us that want a safe clean environment to live. Shame on the city leaders, the government also for not helping the mentally ill. When a city is left to be run down that's the way people are going to treat it.

Their are growing, now they got 8 tents in this tent combine. They have junk furniture in the street, They got about a dozens of bikes parked on the street.

There is no excuse for the city to keep allowing the homeless to wreck havoc in streets of west oakland. They should not be allowed to cart furniture all over the sidewalks. I wrote to Ms McElhaney last week and will probably never get a response. As many years she's been the representative of this district, I've yet to see her come up with a solution. I wonder how many thousands of dollars are spent cleaning these people up.

No. I don't even know what's a PSO. Moreover, I just reported reported a new issue on 9/1/15 regarding that the homeless encampment has moved back again from Cal Tran property into City Sidewalk. So far, this issue has not even been posted. I guess this type of occurrence is so redundant that nobody even bothers or care anymore. See the photo attached dated 9/1/15

Why am I not surprised? Public works, what the ....r u doing? How bout the homeless move in by your front door, the Mayors front door and Ms. McElhaney front door. Jumping back and forth across the fence , then the sidewalk is unacceptable. This encampment needs to be removed permanently. Living across from people's homes should be against the law, right along with sit, lie law, illegal camping, theft etc. This is insane.

How does this get to #12 on public works list to do. This should be number one priority after all the complaints. They will have moved back to Cal Trans and to the sidewalk several times before this is addressed. Get with it.

Public works why is this #12 on your fix list. It should be close to #1 after all the complaints about this encampment. City of Oakland failure to the citizens who live, own, rent, pay taxes, to be here. That's why we go outside Oakland to shop.
