Thank you. I realize that there is a process, but that process is under 12m in time frame from the time the letter to remedy gets sent out to court process, etc. At this rate the amount of violations Mr. Rechburg should have in court he could sit there all day and not be done going through all violations. Meanwhile everyone else has to comply in a timely manner.
This property not only STILL has this wood up, but the ceiling is falling from the roof, all the way down to the first floor. This is a fire hazard next to my business. How is this allowed to be passed up, yet vacant apartments above me need to be up to code? How is one enforced and not the other? This property also doesn't keep up with snow removal. How is this ACTUALLY going to be addressed? What about this law: 1. ALL ORDERS TO REMEDY ISSUED ON OR AFTER JANUARY 12, 2015 MUST STATE THE DATE OF
THE ORDER AND MUST INCLUDE A STATEMENT SUBSTANTIALLY SIMILAR TO THE FOLLOWING:
NOTICE: Full compliance with this order to remedy is required by _____ [specify date],
which is thirty (30) days after the date of this order. If the person or entity served with
this order to remedy fails to comply in full with this order to remedy within the thirty (30)
day period, that person or entity will be subject to a fine of not more than $1,000 per
day of violation, or imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both.
Still an issue. Also to add on, I was told by the fire inspector that the reason why these buildings are allowed to go UNinspected is because they are vacant however this particular building is attached to a storage unit that is occupied and people are paying to use. so I would feel that an inspection would be warranted on this property as well since any other building that has PARTIAL occupancy is subject to FULL inspection. Please advise.
At the conclusion of legal action, the village acquired four properties including this one. Two have since been sold, one is scheduled for demolition, and this one is awaiting a closing date. Conditions of sales include renovation work. It's a long road but thank you for your advocacy!
