This hedge encrouches on the street and violates the by-law. It's a DPW issue/resolve as Wannacomet and FD had been notified of this issue over a year ago
Respectfully, why are reported issues being "closed" before they are resolved? Even if the issue is referred to another department, the matter should be in the "acknowledged" category of the SeeClickFix system, but not closed until fixed. Thank you for considering ways to improve this system.
Hello, we only "close" the issue to mark that we have responded. The acknowledge button isn't available on comments and it saves the time of having to go in and close an issue each time a work order is returned from the crew. Note that work orders are returned at different time frames. thank you
Thank you very much for the reply. Unfortunately, it seems the point is missed in that the original report should be "acknowledged" not "closed" as you are routinely doing before a matter is fixed. I am hopeful that by not closing them so soon, you will be sure that they get done. I could point to many many reports on this system that you have closed, but have not been fixed, and remain so now going for years. Please consider managing the system as other municipalities do whereby the report is "acknowledged" when a work order or referral to another department is made, and "closed" when the matter is "fixed". As an example, instead of "closing" this issue after this comment, why not "close" it when the vegetation is cleared from around the hydrant. Thank you again for maintaining this system, and all of your efforts.
We internally generate work orders using a different system after prompted by see click fix which is why we "close" it as a way to determine that a work order has been generated on the other system we use. The towns that use the "acknowledge feature" also use see click fix to generate their work orders so when the work is completed, they can generate a work order then and close it using one system.
Since we do not use see click fix for work orders its would mean maintaining two systems which we are not able to do at this time. The hope is to have a cohesive system very soon. Thanks for alerting us of issues and for understanding.
