Description
1. Illegal basement apartment was created by excavation of basement. No permit. No inspection. No variance.
2. I request order of engineering study for stability of this house due to illegal excavation in basement.
3. I request eviction to hotel of illegal tenants at homeowner's expense, to be done by the City. This to be done solely on account of lack of fire exits and bars in all windows. This is death trap for tenants and firefighters.
4. I request fine be issued for illegal basement apartment.
5. I request certificate of occupancy be revoked for this house.

What kind of documentation do you request Mr Meyer?
I spoke with tenant of illegal basement and she confirmed she lives there. There is nothing that prevents you asking same person same question. Minimum you can do, is to pay a visit on site and observe people living in basement apartment with windows blocked by bars (death trap for tenants and firefighters).
There is nothing that prevent you making an official inquiry to owner of building.
