Description
email: To whom it may concern,
I own/ live in the property at 145 Ricardo Way NE. Standing water along the road has been a constant issue for many years now. Days after a rain water remains inches deep along both the north and south side of the street. Curbs on both sides of the road are in poor repair from years of construction on the north side of the road.
This issue is made worse by the fact that the valley crossing Ricardo Way NE at Mateo Way NE has been paved over blocking water from crossing the street to the storm drain.
As the north side of the street has been redeveloped over the years the intensity and frequency of street parking has grown and the burden of this has increasingly fallen on the south side of the street. A near constant consequence of this is the regular trenching of yards and damage to front door sidewalks.
This issue is compounded by the fact that we are the only street in the immediate neighborhood that still has Miami style curbs. This curb style enables anyone parking on the street to drive into the grass, often accidentally but not without damage.
As such, I would like to propose/ request that when these drainage issues are addressed the curbs along Ricardo Way NE be replaced with the squared off style found throughout the rest of the neighborhood. Ricardo Way NE has become a high volume road with too much traffic to be left without defined margins.
