Description

The issues reported in 2022 and a year ago in 2023 have gotten worse. People have cut the flimsy metal chains holding the logs together, and have battle-rammed two logs all the way over the cliff. They are trying to battle-ram a third log down the embankment. So much trash is dumped over the side. People having sex, smoking lit embers, doing drug, leaving their cars idles at all hours of the day and night. People tore down a diamond-shaped city sign and threw it down the embankment, too. People have ripped down all of the "no parking per city of Oakland signs." A tree that fell across Grizzly Peak Boulevard in the big storms of March 2023 has been abandoned by the DPW and is still sitting there precariously on the other side of the street. Ironically, this log would be perfect to go in the vandalized empty spot. Please come and address this issue. Properly this time Make it impenetrable to vandals Please bring VERY heavy logs, and chain them effectively to one another. Please also bolster the horizontal logs from the underside with locking, notched vertical logs, so people can’t just roll these logs down the embankment. Please bring more logs to fill in all of the gaps. Because there are gaps everywhere, not just in the most egregious place. There’s also so much dry tree litter up here in this spot that sometimes it makes driving, dangerous and slippery, and it is certainly a wildfire hazard. Please put an actual guard rail in at this location. There are guard rails almost everywhere else in the vicinity of this drop off but not here. Please put the city signs back up. This is a safety risk. This spot is less than half a mile from where the 1991 firestorm began. Fire safety is deathly important here. The actual address is 4901-4945 Grizzly Peak Boulevard
