In 38 days you been out every day, and every hour patching major roads? Gratiot was just repaved, 10 mile a few yrs ago was repaved and the County patches it, Little Mack was just repaved, Frazho was repaved about 10 years ago and is still in good condition, needs joint/ crack sealing, the County does 94 and 696, and the service drive. Right now it's a mute point since the city no longer plows secondary streets. What are we paying taxes for? This fall when the sweeper came down Normandy a big chunk of asphalt got caught in the vacuum intake. That's how bad our street is. In a month and a half between snows you could of found time to send one truck to this street and patch it. We are the ones complaining so fix just our street. Many of the others have been repaved recently anyway. Others had concrete patching last summer. Ours has been neglected. I have seen streets in Detroit with no houses left that were repaved, but Roseville can't even patch fully occupied streets that pay taxes. Do your job that we are paying you for. I have not seen any patching done on the major streets as you claim, much less needing it for the last 40 days. Today our street is snow-covered, so it doesn't matter, but the longer you take to come, the worse it gets. I hope the city manager reads this and asks what you have been doing for the last 38 days.

Sir, I travelled Normandy yesterday. Having patched most streets in Roseville personally during my 30 years as an employee at almost every level I am intimately aware of the poor condition of Normandy Street as well as how it's condition compares to all other streets in Roseville. Despite your clear disagreement with our course of action we still have an obligation to the community to patch streets according to the traffic volume and condition. That being said, Normandy will certainly be placed high on the list of side streets and will almost certainly be addressed early next week. There are also plans to tear out and replace Normandy from Church to Frazho this spring. I know you have heard that before. Normandy was shelved in 2021 due to the necessity to apply those funds elsewhere. The continued degrading of the street has made it more of a priority than it was in 2021. Most of the streets around it have already been replaced. Again, I am sorry that you are upset. I have read your emails to our City Manager as well as the Mayor. Our commitment continues to be to the community as a whole and we will continue to prioritize accordingly.

You have a duty to all streets in a timely manner. I was on Little Mack yesterday and I saw some fresh asphalt but not any that would indicate your guys were out for 8 hours. I am on Little Mack almost daily. As I said in other posts, you don't patch 11 mile, 94, 696, 14, 10 mile, have seen the county doing those. Gratiot was just repaved, Martin is in good shape, Frazho was redone about 10 yrs ago, Masonic from Little Mack to Saint Clair Shores is bad, but those two little sections shouldn't take 8 hours over 39 days. Now I realize there were about 6 days you had to salt and plow, there were 10 days of weekends that you don't work unless it snows. So you had 13 days were you could of patched our street. There has been a open work order since Dec 23, since then several more potholes have opened up. The street is asphalt and has a life expectancy of 10 years, the road is over 30. Large sections are more cold patch then actual pavement, and now the cold patches failing. You have about 15 employees in Roads, you can't send 2 out and fix our damn street? So you said next week, if you come on Monday, which you would be competing with GFL for the road, it would be 42 days since the first request to patch. You see nothing wrong with that? You see nothing wrong with 2 blocks of main roads needing your employees attention for 42 days? As a supervisor your job is to balance your employees time on a job. Seems to me you have some wasting time. You have 7 hours after lunch and 2 15 min breaks to work. In 7 hours there is no time to come and fill holes in 42 days? I traveled Little Mack about 1:30 yesterday, there were no employees anywhere. Are they only capable of doing one road a day? Maybe the city should outsource road maintenance then.
