Description

Please study improving the safety of the sidewalk adjacent to the car wash exit. The current roadway design has two issues:
1.) Motorists who exit the car wash can't see vehicles in the traffic lane unless they wait on the sidewalk. Conversely, pedestrians can't see motorists exiting the car wash. As a result, pedestrians risk getting hit by motorists.
2.) The sidewalk is too narrow between the car wash exit and traffic lanes. It's very common for motorists who exit the car wash to completely block the sidewalk with their vehicle, leaving no room for pedestrians to safely walk past.

I propose that the city improve the sight lines so that pedestrians can safely cross the car walk exit, and motorists are aware of pedestrians.

Q. What pedestrian and traffic safety elements would you like the city to consider?
A. 1. Traffic: Curb Extension/Daylighting Request (Curb extensions are traffic calming measures which improve sight lines and encourage slower turning speeds.)
