No one ever stops for pedestrians here. After they put all the new lines on the road including the “box” to leave the intersection clear, people are still very aggressive and block the box so pedestrians can’t cross, busses can’t turn left off of ferry, cars can’t cross straight over palisade, etc

Tell me something I don’t know already especially when traffic is very active. Then you got people just parking all night all day at the bus stops like it’s worse when there is traffic. Just recently there was a bad accident and nobody had any patience through traffic they just wanted to go around and all they were aggressive and impatient. Numerous times complaints have been made about that corner and something needs to be done. That’s not even including on Franklin St as well same problem sometimes. It’s very dangerous then nobody in the neighborhood cares to speak up enough about it.

Thank you so much yes this is something that should been considered it just got bad over the years and with the heavy traffic it’s horrible I am pretty sure you guys got some complaints with nj transit how those corners are and needs attention. And some people in the community that park there don’t care they do it anyways no matter how many times you ticket sometimes I have found also same cars doing it like I can understand if it’s something quick but to just leave your car there all day and night especially if you know how that corner gets and how difficult too with the busses. Some of the residents have no consideration at all. Like I said before it was not that bad now it’s just horrible and making it more worse.

Focus on Franklin as well that’s another corner they park at mainly on the Franklin section when the buses turn that direction also makes it difficult on the palisade part is not as bad but some cars do not as much on Franklin.

Marking as Palisade (Ferry to Franklin) + Look at all bus stops along Palisade/main corridor.

getting to these issues is taking a little longer, because the engineers want to be comprehensive and thoughtful (with public input) so that a real solution is put into affect. This might mean that some temporary measures are put in to be added to later, but this is being done consciously so as not to waste money or materials.

Thank you very much I truly appreciate it and understand what you mean but it’s been too often and should be a great suggestion especially with that accident that happen recently that thank god nobody wasn’t hurt but it could had been worse. Just something to control the situation even if it’s a traffic light too. I know the streets are tight to put those white divider poles but even if you put them more towards sidewalk could help prevent. A solution can be made or apply a traffic camera that will only ticket those violating the corner and bus stops recognizing the plates and alerting to give a ticket because of improper parking. There can be several ways we can think of.

Other areas need to be considered as well not just this one. Focus on some school zones as well. Fire hydrants too and most definitely on the crosswalks where MANY do that too.

There are currently over 500 requests for safety reviews and we will prioritize with criteria such as proximity to a school.

Unfortunately, traffic cameras are not legal in new Jersey.

No I totally understand was just some suggestions that’s all. Anything to fix that issue with in the vicinity because now it’s just to much , the goal was to get the attention to that area and glad it came across. I truly appreciate the time you took to come across it as you see it needed attention.

Keep the suggestions and ideas coming. I was just mentioning over 500 intersections because the other intersections suggested might already be captured. My job is to compile all the information from here and get it to the engineers so nothing is missed as they continue to make the City safer for all.

Not a problem. Yes we need to find comfortable solutions and most of all safe one together as a community. Because there are so many things that can done and fixed but if nobody addresses them then they obviously would not get solved. I can suggest a few things but one thing at a time the goal is to work together as a community to get it done.

Double parking and parking continues to be on that corner just make note traffic is light at moment but will make it difficult once again for the busses.

Once again complaining in regards to this situation in the vicinity between Ferry Street and Franklin Ave via Palisade Ave. The amount of vehicles who constantly are parking illegally especially around the areas of the barbershops and more. I’ve complained numerous times and should not have to when this is a very well known situation. Especially during the hours where buses are operating and makes the area unsafe just like that accident that happened not so long ago because of people parking the way they do. Especially abusing it at late hours.
