According to city code (§313-47), property owners are responsible for keeping their properties maintained with regards to lawn and litter. DGS staff will inspect the property for any violations. If violations are found, the property owner will be notified and given ten business days to rectify any violations. After ten business days, DGS will re-inspect the property for compliance. If the property is still in violation, DGS will schedule a cleanup of the property and the owner will be billed. Please note that due to the high volume, these requests may take up to two weeks or more for DGS to clean.

Hopefully the owner was fined. There is a reason there are so many repeat offenders all over the neighborhood. Little to no deterrence.

DGS, the 10-day fine structure doesn't work. Trash is picked up weekly so buildings throw their trash all over the sidewalk until trash night which happens prior to the 10-day deadline so they are always escaping consequences and therefore continue to violate trash ordinance. Codes has said that they have to give a 10-day notice but dgs can fine immediately. Is Codes providing inaccurate information?
