Update from Neighborhood Transportation: the following email was sent to the submitter of this SCF issue report:
"Dear (email address deleted)
Transportation Department staff have completed 24-hour vehicle speed and volume studies on 34th Avenue N in response to the above noted concern. Results in this 30 MPH speed zone were as follows:
E/B = 153 vehicles; average operating speed = 35 MPH with 12 vehicles or 29.85% exceeding 40 MPH
W/B = 212 vehicles; average operating speed = 34.00 MPH with 10 vehicles or 33.33% exceeding 40 MPH
Based on these results this segment of 34th Avenue N qualifies for speed humps. In order to modify this roadway we require that at least 2/3rds of the effected residents sign a petition in approval. We can mail you the petition form directly, if you are able to assist in circulating the form to acquire the needed signatures. Please advise me by return e-mail with you mailing address and I will send you the original form.
Thank you - Neighborhood Transportation"
As you can see from the above analysis of the traffic at this reported location, speed humps would absolutely qualify as a means of calming traffic speeds.
The response received from the recipient of this email message was as follows:
"im going to fight this, u must think im stupid, no one hasn't been out here taken radar and counting cars as they drive down the road, your workers are full of ****, sounds like u believe anything anyone tells u, time to contact the news"
Since the recipient of the above information from Neighborhood Transportation chose not to respond in a positive manner and accept the petition form required for neighborhood approval, we would need someone else from the neighborhood to agree to circulate the form. Until then, this request cannot proceed.
Any questions may be directed to Neighborhood Transportation at 727-893-7843. Thank you.

Thank you for your past submission via SeeClickFix. The City of St Petersburg periodically reviews past reports that are made from citizens within our city limits, and in an effort to clean up old issues that were resolved some time ago, we are marking as 'closed' those issues that were submitted in the past for which the work has been completed or the issue has otherwise been resolved.
If you think for any reason that the issue you submitted in the past might still be unresolved, please feel free to submit a new report with the SeeClickFix St. Pete website and we will make sure the issue is directed to the appropriate City department to be addressed as soon as possible.
Thank you again - Sincerely, St Pete Service Center
