This turn is not a crossover for Brownleigh! Any attempt to do so is illegal. The proper access from Westbound Glenwood is to turn left on Ebeneezer then right onto Glen Royal to access Brownleigh

Move it 50 feet and it would be a functional crossover for Brownleigh. Otherwise, it is a crossover to NO WHERE!!!

West bound traffic wanting to turn on Brownleigh, currently must go west to the Umstead crossover to make a dangerous, but legal, U turn. It is much more dangerous there because of being too close to the crest of a hill and unable to see fast oncoming traffic. A Brownleigh crossover would be much safer. Besides, how many people know the backway from Ebenezer Chruch Road, then to Glen Royal, and finally to Brownleigh? Bad suggestion but it is the only way locals can do it because the alternative is unsafe or illegal. Fix the crossover at Brownleih!

I am certainly not against a crossover for Brownleigh, but that is a topic for the State DOT as Glenwood Ave is a state highway (70). Just pointing out that the current turn was not meant for Brownleigh,and is posted for no turn onto Brownleigh.

Both points are interesting. (1) The State DOT says it needs Raleigh's approval and efforts. (2) I have never seen the "posted for no turn onto Brownleigh" even though I have used it for years.

While these may not be the best placed signs I've ever seen, what they mean is when your stopped at that U-turn, you are not allowed to turn right to access Brownleigh
