UPDATE: Public Works - Traffic Engineering The funding status of the project to improve the signalized intersection at 62nd Avenue North at 25th Street North was postponed due to other priorities, We will be looking to fund it if the Penny for Pinellas is approved. The geometry of the roadway, as it currently exists, does not allow the addition of left-turn arrows, because there is no room for the left-turn bays. The number of reported crashes at this intersection has fallen over the last couple of years: 2011 – 13; 2012 – 8; 2013 – 4 and 2014-to-date- no reported crashes. Most of the crashes were caused by motorists failing to yield right-of-way to oncoming motorists, and running red lights.
Please call Debra, Public Works - Traffic Engineering, Studies and Investigations Manager (727) 464-8958 if you would like to discuss further.
Thank you for taking an interest in Traffic Safety! Debra
