The renovation of Lake Merritt once known as the “Jewel of Oakland” was funded from Measure DD, a $198 million bond Oakland voters passed in 2002. Of that, $115 million was allocated for Lake Merritt.
$115,000,000 of taxpayers money to provide a homeless encampment, allow illegal vending, illegal parking, dumping of trash, amplified sound and graffiti vandalism.
