This looks like it is on state property. Contact Cal Trans via there web site and file a service request order. The City of Oakland needs to deal with these street campers. Only a handful have any civic pride the rest live like rodents and leave an endless debris field of waste behind them. How do help someone who will not help themselves.

I have spent my money to have the sidewalk cleaned up and mattress and junk removed in around my house since the city was not doing anything. couple hours later a box with half eaten watermelon was dumped there again!!!!!!!!!!!
The city trash removal truck passed by and did not stop, the garbage truck passed by and did not stop either!!!!!!!!!
When your job description is picking up trash, maybe that what you should do when you see trash on the street.

In talking to public works employees who are on illegal dumping clean up, They first need a service request order for anything. Also there are different people to pick up different things the mattress truck will not pick tires and so on. When I asked them to pick some extra mattress's on the street they said they cannot no service request plus they said it could be bulky waste not there dept or private property. So it is all on the Pro-Bono SCF crew to report. Put the watermelon in your green waste bin or hold your breath. I am sure DWP has a driver who only picks up organic waste with a service request order. Oh yes there are the UNION rules also. BTW I do care and I have meet a lot Oakland City employees who are working to fix the problems but there are more at this time that seem be status quo.

No doubt there are a lot of people with good values trying their hardest to to make it better.
This app is a great toll, but what process could make a dent in this problem? (illegal dumping,...)
