Description

The corner of Water Street and Bacon Road is a bus stop. In the afternoon children are dropped off across from Bacon Road and need to cross Water Street to get home. The afternoon drop off is around the time that Hemenway Elementary is getting out of school. There have been a number of times perhaps one dozen so far this school year when parents driving have ignored horns the stop sign on the bus and children who are crossing the street. The crossing guard down the road has noticed this as well and is very concerned. Parents park on both sides of the street on bacon and ignore rules of the road including quick u-turns. Other times parents exiting hemmingway parking lot will also go straight through the park bus at the stop endangering our children. We would like to request kindly that police officers come to help resolve this issue. Children get off the bus anywhere from 3:35 to 3:50, it varies. The illegal parking happens daily.
