Description
Saw a constant stream of vehicles exit the McDonald's driveway and cross over Telegraph and make an illegal left turn. Island should be extended further out and maybe increased in height too

Thanks for bringing this to 311’s attention. I’m pretty sick of seeing that too. Double yellow line doesn’t mean anything to some people.
A few tickets should fix that…

OR the city can make a smarter move and make that left turn possible because obviously its a turn thats needed. Forcing people to go right and then circling around either down 48th to Clarke then up 45th back to Tellie -a real long route - or left at 49th then left on shattuck then left at 44th then right on Tellie - very difficult route back to tellie with any traffic - is rediculous because this increases traffic on very small streets and increases travel time by going around a block. The city really screwed up Tellie from 40th to 52nd with the conversion. Even the engineer who designed it knows its a mistake. Just ask the fire dept at 51st and Clarke.
Besides theres no sign coming out of McDonalds that says "No Left Turn" so its going to happen.

No sign is needed because one of the things you learn before acquiring your drivers license; is you DO NOT CROSS A DOUBLE LINE.
Additionally the added changes have been fantastic for pedestrians and bicyclists, they’d be better if driver’s followed the rules and stuck to the 25 MPH speed zone.

Um gee Mike i guess you think everyone should be as perfect as you think you are.
OR maybe i should have been more gentile for those of you with a hardon for the law by suggesting that posting a No Left Turn sign as a reminder would be very helpful to drivers and respectful to pedestrians and bikers who utilize Tellie.
Clearly you completely missed the point of my comment - which is that there is a real need for a left turn out of that lot - and youre now just enjoying trolling me.
If the city can design the New Telegraph the way it is now then they can surely design a roadway with a break in the two lanes for a left turn because that type of turn exists on many roads across Oakland and the state.
