Description
While this becomes a major national problem, the issue of used needles, broken crack pipes, pot pipes and lost bags of pot find there way into the neighborhood. What exactly is the City doing about this? The bus stops are typically impacted, parking lots, in front of houses and now typically human feces. What is the plan in place to address this? Who is involved? Why don’t we know about it if there is one? Mayor, good time to get out of your office walking the streets and tell us what’s going on.

The only way to solve this is to get out of Albany. Things have only gotten worse over the last 35+ yrs I’ve been here. Point of return is long gone.
I just looked at a house 40 min from here. I’m done with 2 months of fireworks, poop all over, trash all over, blasting music from speeding cars.. Done.

A large part of the problem is the clientele which is coming in to the city to live. People who just don’t care and don’t take pride in their homes and living here. Absentee landlords don’t help either.
Then there are long time residents who are tired of waiting for quality of life to improve and see a constant decline. If they can, they move.
Many of these long time residents also are passing away. Two on my street lately. One was 98. Distant kin sell the house because they don’t want to move here. Absentees buy it and rent it out. Another one down the drain.
The spread of urban blight is tough to reverse.

This is a multi faceted issue that the City is working with other municipalities, non-profit organizations, and local authorities to resolve.
