Description
Request for (2) additional stop signs on West Side Ave at the intersection of West Side Ave and Pavonia Ave. The intersection is dangerous when driving down Pavonia due the combination of the heavily trafficked nature of West Side Ave and the blind intersection created by parked cars along West Side Ave. There is also a heavy pedestrian element because of the municipal pool. I've seen young children almost hit multiple times due to careless driving at this intersection. To boot, the crosswalk signage placed in the street was run over within literally a day of it's placement

Hi, please advise where this stands with Hudson County. Is there any way to track this on their end? I'm worried that this has gone into a black box and disappeared. This concern has been left open-ended for almost 7 months. I've almost been hit numerous times since the last correspondence on 1/3/22, as a pedestrian, driver, and passenger.
I was almost hit in my personal vehicle about 10 minutes ago as I drove down Pavonia. Parked vehicles obscured my view of oncoming traffic along Westside Avenue, as well as their view of me. Similarly, I took a rideshare home Saturday evening, and was almost hit in that vehicle as well, as the driver was unfamiliar with this dangerous intersection.
Given that this has been all but ignored for 7 months, I'm at a loss about what to do short of hiring my own licensed professional civil engineer and escalating the matter.

No discernible action appears to have been taken since the ticket was opened 225 days ago. While I understand there are many pressing issues for Jersey City to deal with, the fact that this has gotten nowhere after such a significant amount of time is distressing.
Please advise on the current status of this issue with the Hudson County Sheriff's Department.

Hi,
Following up once again. This issue was raised by another party on a separate ticket and was subsequently closed with the comment "This is an enforcement issue. We will forward this information". https://seeclickfix.com/issues/11058530-pedestrian-safety-study-request
Today, I witnessed an elderly man almost get hit by a car speeding through this intersection. Shortly thereafter, myself and my dog were also almost hit by a car, shockingly, speeding through the intersection.
It has been 341 days since this ticket was opened. It has been requested numerous times for feedback to be provided regarding the status of this issue with the Hudson County Sheriff's Department (although I think you meant to say the Hudson County Department of Roads and Public Property).

@Victor Owusu,
I just got off the phone with the Hudson County Department of Roads and Bridges, and they informed me that Westside Avenue is not under their jurisdiction, and that it is under Jersey City's care. Based on the roadwork going on outside, this road has to belong to someone. Google is telling me that the CR designation for this portion of Westside Ave is CR641, but I was informed otherwise by the individuals I spoke to over the phone.

Victor,
My wife and our dog just came within inches of being hit by a car in this intersection. It was such a close call multiple people stopped to make sure she and the dog were OK. We refuse to wait for a tragedy to occur to make a change here.
