It is legal to ride a bicycle on public sidewalks in Gainesville (per local ordinances). The law is up to the individual municipality, so you should check with the town/city of interest. Please be aware that some Gainesville properties such as schools, shopping centers, etc. may prohibit sidewalk riding and indicate such with signage that must be followed.
