Cross Walk SignalAcknowledged2 Monument Sq Portland, ME, 04101, USA - PortlandBeeping all night. Crosswalk signals at Congress & Temple, and crosswalk signals at Congress & Elm never stop beeping all night long. Constant beeping from midnight to 8 am. Never stops. The early morning hours of 2 am-6am (prior to pedestrian activity & traffic movement), beeping is constant. Please adjust signal to motion sensor. Handicapped/hearing impaired persons should not be wandering the streets at late hours alone. Also beeping is constant which is a hazard for hearing impaired if a moving vehicle is present in late hours.

Cross Walk SignalAcknowledgedHigh St & Spring St Portland, ME, 04101, USA - Portland
Greetings,
Monday through Friday I walk from my home on Brackett Street to my workplace on Congress Square, where I cross at the Spring/High Street intersection to commute down Spring.
Because of the light pattern, I nearly get hit at least once a week since cars on Spring are allowed to turn while the walk signal is on. The countdown starts on the signal after about 3-5 seconds, which I understand may be standard, but I often have drivers point at it as if I’m not allowed to cross as they turn. Because I know the pattern of this light, I use extra vigilance when crossing. This morning, I was nearly hit by a school bus, who stopped short and accusingly pointed to the crosswalk signal, which had 5 seconds left on it as I finished crossing.
All to say, I feel this is one of many busy intersections in Portland that is a high-risk place for pedestrians because the light does not allow time to cross without car activity. As a driver, I’ve witnessed several near misses in this area, and always approach the light with caution.
I hope the city is willing to take a look at this, and I’d be happy to further explain if helpful. As a resident, I want to see Portland be as pedestrian friendly as possible, and exploring ways to make busy intersections like these safer seems like an easy, community-minded way to do so.
Many thanks!
Warmly,
Emma Sullivan

Cross Walk SignalAcknowledgedFox St & Franklin St Portland, ME, 04101, USA - PortlandWhen pedestrians push the button to cross Franklin from Fox Street toward Whole Foods/Somerset St, the signal changes to a walk signal for the far part of Franklin but the part they cross first keeps its don't walk signal, this is wrong and confusing, please fix it. You closed my earlier complaint Issue ID: 15178891
maybe because I did not report it as a Cross Walk Signal complaint? I witnessed it today. Please fix it. -
CrosswalkAcknowledgedCongress St & Mellen St Portland, ME, 04102, USA - Portland[Almost] unmarked crosswalk -- No dayglow green crosswalk signs and pavement markings nearly gone. This crosswalk is used every day by dozens of schoolchildren but there's almost no way for drivers to know it's a crosswalk.
