  • 9303 Old Scaggsville Rd North Laurel, MD, 20723, USA - North Laurel

New traffic calming area need to be put in. Vehicles are constantly well exceeding all speed limits on Old Scaggsville Road a silver Toyota Supra is a constant offender going over 60 MPH on this road. It almost lost control and went directly into the telephone pole in front of my house over the weekend. There are always multiple vehicles exceeding the speed limit cars fly up old Scaggsville starting at all saints road going past Gross, Grant, and Bryant. Some vehicles do slow down at the circle at the top of the hill but then pick up speed flying past the new trinity homes to the townhouses at the dead end.

Some other offers use Robinson as a cut through then speed down either gross , grant , or Bryant to the meet back up at old Scaggsville. All of high ridge needs to be monitored Kids and animal are in danger from lack of side walks and traffic calming areas. Kids can’t even access the public areas (high ridge park, the park at the end of Bryant, the parks at the dead end on old Scaggsville due to lack of side walks and calming areas.

The excessive speeding on old Scaggsville road and side roads being used as short cuts has gotten totally out of control. Someone needs to do something.

  • Luckpenny Pl Columbia, Maryland, 21045 - Columbia
People are parking really close to the intersection making it incredibly difficult and dangerous to turn from luckpenny onto Phelps luck. The picture in question shows a car parked just north of luckpenny pl (when exiting the street it's to the left). Another car was there this morning and this happens frequently. Request a "no parking from here to corner" sign to reduce the view obstruction.
  • 9108 Tymat Ct Laurel, Maryland, 20723 - North Laurel
Please add a stop a 4 way stop to this intersection. People drive too fast and endanger kids walkers and other vehicles frequently.
  • Carved Stone & Snowden River Pkwy Columbia, MD, 21045, USA - Columbia

For the northbound Berger Road approach, it would be helpful to change the lanes to a left/thru and right only. Since the side streets have the split phasing, there is no need to make the right turns wait behind thru vehicles.

In my last case, # 6021542, I was told the alignment of that approach would put drivers in the grass median on the other side of the intersection if going straight from the left lane. I respectfully disagree. The alignment from that left lane would almost directly out them in the left lane on Carved Stone. There is already a keep right sign in that median to help drivers avoid the median. If there is a concern over vehicle paths, a dotted line could be installed across the intersection to help drivers.

The current lane assignment is not typical for most intersections with this type of split phasing in our area since people expect the the lefts and throughs to share a lane.

    Please reconsider this.

  • 4273–4299 Centennial Ln Ellicott City MD 21042, United States - Ellicott City
people constantly cross the double line and come into the turn lane that leads into the centennial neighborhood. This is very dangerous for those of us who live in this neighborhood and try to use that as the proper turn lane. Is there anyway to put up some of those
  • 9882-9942 Gorman Rd Laurel, MD, 20723, USA - North Laurel

Need “do not pass” signage on this road section.

The double yellow line does not deter drivers from passing cyclists and crossing the lane divider along this limited sight distance portion of road. I think it needs to be made very clear to drivers that passing IS NOT appropriate or safe along this section of road. I have personally witnessed two near misses, one involving a school bus. As a cyclist, I do not feel safe cycling here as I know drivers will pass when not safe

  • 900 Henryton Rd Marriottsville, MD, 21104, USA - Howard County
Cars are parking on both sides of Henryton from my address to the river. Is it possible to put up no parking signs to reduce the amount of parking and traffic? There is also a speeding issue and a partying issue in the park.
  • 5132-5198 Cedar Ln Columbia, MD, 21044, USA - Columbia
Can we get traffic calming here between the park and rt 108? It is being used as a dragstrip and people regularly speed excessively when leaving the park, etc.
  • 7851 Butterfield Dr Elkridge, Maryland, 21075 - Elkridge
The corner of Butterfield and Grommet gets a lot of traffic and cars, trucks, buses, and vans fly down the road. You should consider making this a 4 Way Stop. There is also work vans parking at the intersection which makes it impossible to see oncoming traffic. Maybe no parking signs by the intersection could help as well.
  • 5107 Beaverbrook Road Columbia, Maryland - Columbia
When turning from Lynngate Rd onto Beaverbrook Rd, there is limited sight looking south because Beaverbrook Rd drops down hill to the south. Cars occasionally speed when coming up the hill northbound on Beaverbrook Rd, so the Lynngate-Beaverbrook intersection is dangerous at times. Please make this intersection a four-way stop to improve safety. Presently there are no stop signs on Beaverbrook Rd (north or south) at this intersection. The nearest four-way stop is the Durham-Beaverbrook intersection, so a person speeding northbound on Beaverbrook from Castlemoor Dr has a relative long stretch before having to slow down. Consequently, the requested stop signs will also introduce some beneficial traffic calming.
