  • 10212 Douglas Avenue Silver Spring, Maryland - Forest Glen
Quiet residential neighborhood on Douglas Avenue that is home to many families. Most children play outside and some on the street, unfortunately, there are many cars that speed up and down Douglas Avenue to/from the apartments that are located at the south end of Douglas Avenue. The street needs speed bumps to slow traffic down.
  • 7400 Lakeview Dr Bethesda, Maryland - Potomac
    Wrong and confusing Beltway signage
  • Intersection Briggs Chaney Rd & Rt 29 Montgomery County, Maryland - Fairland
The signage that at this relatively new interchange is dangerously inadequate in all directions. It is difficult for those of us who live nearby and perilous for visitors. Usually I drive eastbound on Briggs Chaney and find the directions confusing but last night my friend who lives in Columbia missed the southbound exit to Rt. 29 and turned around to go westbound to try again, This signage was worse yet. My suggestion is that whoever is responsible for signage placement drive through in all directions and start again. This is too busy an intersection to risk accidents because of a sign or no sign.
  • 6335-6399 Connecticut Avenue Chevy Chase, Maryland - Chevy Chase Village
in center lane, catches left side tires
  • 7420 Lakeview Dr Bethesda, MD - Potomac
There are several biased traffic lights in Montgomery County. By biased I mean that going one way is much longer that going the other way. One is at the intersection of Westlake Dr. and Tuckerman La. is very long if you are headed up Westalke Dr. to turn left on Tuckerman. It is very frustrating. There are several other biased lights in the County that I will report after I double check the street names.
  • 9400 Darnestown Road Rockville, Maryland - Rockville
In Rockville heading east on Darnestown Road at the intersection with Glenora Lane, there is a pothole forming in the left lane. It appears that this was a pavement patch at one point and is next to the median, making it difficult to avoid if in the left lane.
  • 7420 Lakeview Dr. Bethesda, Maryland - Potomac
The Montgomery Mall area has changed a lot in the last 30 years. It is now I believe the most popular mall in the Washington area except for Tysons Corner. There are huge numbers of people working and shopping and loitering there especially on the weekends. Not all of these people hanging around Montgomery Mall are good people. I feel strongly that the Montgomery County Police should have a greater presence in this neighborhood where there are many elderly people who could be preyed upon. There has been a great deal of vandalism in the condos where I live. We have reduced it somewhat by installing cameras. But it is still there. I feel that the Police should walk around the Mall at least once a day during the weekends and also drive around in the little streets of the adjoining neighborhood. I live there and I rarely see Police personnel at the Mall or in the nighborhood. The mall does have security personnel but they do not go into the nearby neighborhoods. They are also not capable of confronting and detaining a shoplifter at the mall who might very take a good look around the streets around the mall to see what else looks good.
  • Redland Extension Derwood, Maryland - Redland
Three lanes exit the Shady Grove parking areas and merge into two on the garage side...
One (the right) lane exits directly onto Redland Road at the light. Many people queue into two lanes there as a courtesy even though the exit was designed for one lane. Issue #1 is that curb demolition is needed along with repaving and repainting the lines to allow two lanes at the exit. That would improve traffic flow and reduce the backup at the light. The backup impedes exit onto Redland Extension when volume is high. That leads to Issue #2 which is the exit at Redland Extension. This exit that was recently upgraded with a pedestrian light. Two left lanes merge into one two exit here. Originally this exit was designed for two lanes to turn left but the road was restriped to force a merger prior to the turn. Many people stay in the middle lane and jump the queue waiting to make the left. This is very unfair to the patient drivers in the queue. This lane should be re-signed so that the middle lane is designated RIGHT TURN ONLY (onto Redlands Road). That would hopefully retard the line jumpers..
  • 13114 Fernedge Road Silver Spring/Montgomery, MD - Wheaton-Glenmont
They did a good job of clearing a lane, coming through frequently. However, it is a 2-way street and they only cleared one lane, not enough for 2-way traffic. They have declared snow removal "complete" on the street.
