Same car parking in yard in front of same apartment again, w an empty lot next to it. Is there something one is supposed to do other than post these for something to be done?
  • 106-108 New Stateside Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, USA - Chapel Hill

When team sporting events occur in Homestead Park, participants often park in the No Parking zone on both sides of New Stateside Drive. This creates a dangerous situation where the street is effectively a 1-lane road and would be impassible to a school bus, fire truck, ambulance, or other large service vehicle.

Vehicles even block the fire hydrant there.

This illegal parking often occurs on weekends and after hours on weekdays. I have tried calling the phone number shown on the Town's website for parking enforcement, but am not able to contact a human at these off hours.

Can anything be done? Perhaps marking the pavement along each side with a cross-hatch, bike lane, or other more visual deterrent? Can enforcement personnel visit this site when team sport events are scheduled to ticket and/or tow offenders?

  • Barclay Rd & Branch St Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 27516 - Chapel Hill

Town has recently upgraded the "No Parking In Median" signs (thank you) but there are some individuals who mistakenly believe that they are somehow immune from compliance or prosecution. Citing the applicable ordinances:
Sec. 21-20. - Interference with traffic.
Sec. 21-18. - Driving on median of Barclay Road.
Sec. 21-25. - Parking on median of Barclay Road.
None of these have exemptions, but the apartment owner (or his hired help) regularly violate all three ordinances in an ongoing criminal basis. While I feel sorry for the poor lawn maintenance guys just trying to do their job, that does NOT give them a free pass to violate the law. Their employer knows better and should act accordingly. Please have them put on notice that NO FURTHER VIOLATIONS will be tolerated.

From Orange County GIS, this is the pertinent information:
    PIN 9789223931
ADDRESS 203 BARCLAY RD UNIT E-F
    OWNER MILLS NATHANIEL

    PIN 9789224952
ADDRESS 201 BARCLAY RD UNIT A-D
    OWNER MILLS NATHANIEL

It would be greatly appreciated if this were dealt with in a mode that makes it abundantly clear that this is unacceptable behavior in our town.

    Thank you!

Multiple cars parked illegally in Coolidge st and cross streets
  • 1081 Nc 54 Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, USA - Chapel Hill
While not officially marked as a handicap parking space, the intention of this parking space seems to be to promote disability/wheelchair accessibility on the paved MC greenway. On days that the parking lot gets full (like this afternoon), handicap accessibility is lost.
  • 712 Edwards St Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, USA - Chapel Hill
712 Edwards St. White Lexus Plate # HDW-7684 been parked outside in the roadway No Parking Zone for a couple hours already.
  • 705 Edwards St Chapel Hill, NC, 27516, USA - Chapel Hill
Black Jetta with NY plates KUF-6600 parked all afternoon in front of 705 Edwards, both sides of street are labeled No Parking Zone. Maybe the brush covering the small signs makes them hard to see? There's almost always a car parked in front of 705 Edwards in the street.
  • 2125 E Old Oxford Rd Chapel Hill, North Carolina, 27514 - Chapel Hill
A couple weeks ago a town employee working on East Old Oxford Rd. accidently knocked over my mailbox at this address. They were very nice, had tried to repair it without luck and assured that they had ordered another one. The employee asked me to leave the broken mailbox on the ground so that those supplying the new box would know where to deliver and set it up but no mailbox has come. Could someone look into this and make sure that there has not been some type of communication error?
