  • 735-799 Holden St Raleigh, NC - Mordecai

Where Holden Street meets Brookside Drive, there is a section of overgrowth that is not ideal. Garbage, vines, weeds, dirty signs, and erosion combine at the entrance to our neighborhood. We are also noticing this is a location for loitering at night due to low lighting and low visibility. With a little bit of planning and cooperation with neighbors and the city of Raleigh, we can transform this plot into a beautiful entrance to Oakdale.

We need the City of Raleigh's help with the following, please:

    - Schedule time with a Parks and Rec Tree representative to instruct on what volunteers are allowed to do with regards to trimming brush, vines and trees along the right-of-way. (Yes, we already have permission from the property owner) Also, instruct us on what plants such as bushes, trees, perennials to plant.

    - Who can work with us to have mulch delivered, so volunteers can spread it along the right-of-way.

  • Chestnut St Raleigh, NC - Blount Corridor

A pedestrian crossing is needed for crossing Wake Forest Road at Chestnut Street. There are lots of people who need to cross Wake Forest here - families walking to Conn Elementary, pedestrians walking to the bus stop, the post office letter carrier. There is a lot of traffic on Wake Forest, and I have seen people crossing at this spot in dangerous situations at all times of the day. It is just a matter of time before someone gets hit by a speeding car.

I'd like for the city to add a button-activated crosswalk with a stoplight at the Wake Forest/Chestnut intersection.

  • 616 N Person St Raleigh, NC - Blount Corridor

There are no bike racks along this section of Person Street. If no racks are provided, people will park on poles and trees, sometimes damaging them. I was informed that there is an issue in providing bicycle racks along the corridor because NCDOT has been a barrier. Although this may just be a rumor, bicycle racks are still needed in this corridor (now) and should be included in any future plans!

  • 614 Frank St Raleigh, NC 27604, USA - Mordecai

Neighbors have expressed interest in having some place to sit while their kids play here. I know benches are expensive, but would the city perhaps be able to spare a few 2' or 3' tall boulders until benches could be budgeted and bought?

    Thanks!

  • 1223 Norris St Raleigh, NC - Mordecai

Someone is lighting leaf piles on fire in and around the Frank Street area. Last night someone lit my neighbor's yardwaste on fire around 11:30pm. The fire department said this was the 10th report of this happening in the past week or so in the 3 block area from Watauga to Norris St. Most all of the instances have occurred between 10pm and Midnight. We were hoping that leaf collection would stop the fire starter, the stuff that was burned last night were other yard debris. Hoping we can have some help from RPD in patrolling the area after 10pm to try to catch whomever is responsible for this.

  • 806 N Blount St Raleigh, NC - Blount Corridor

This is a particularly dangerous corner for everyone, especially cyclists, as cars come down blount street quickly and don't look carefully enough. Given the corner and the speed of traffic here, it is not safe. A stop sign would be better than the current yield.

  • Glascock And Brookside Raleigh, NC - Mordecai

The bus stop on the north side of Glascock and Brookside Drive needs to be updated. The current bus waiting area is a dirt spot on a very narrow shoulder and there are no sidewalks to access it. It seems quite dangerous.

  • 227 Glascock Street Raleigh, NC 27604, USA - Mordecai

The speeding down Glascock St. is out of control - even by the city's own CAT buses. I know the traffic calming is in discussions, but something needs to be done in the meantime. The police officer periodically sitting on Benjamin trapping speeders helped for a while, but it has been a long time since one has sat there. Perhaps on of those electronic signs that tells you how fast you're going? I estimate a CAT bus that just drove by my house was going at least 40 mph in a 25. Cars absolutely fly down that straight away from Watauga to Wake Forest, please to sometime to deter the dangerous speeds in a stretch where so many small children live.

  • 600 N. Person Street Raleigh, NC - Blount Corridor

This is the FOURTH TIME we have reported this issue. It is STILL unresolved. Parking restrictions in the Person Street business district are NOT being enforced. We have taken to calling the police on specific cars now. Please enforce the law here equally as you do downtown.

  • 721-799 Sasser St Raleigh, NC 27604, USA - Mordecai

Resident has a large white Akita tethered in he front yard all day into the evenings. I don't think that is legal in Raleigh anymore. Dog runs at runners/bikers and is yanked back by the chain. I am concerned it is going to break free and eat my face.

  • 614 Frank St Raleigh, NC - Mordecai

The short stretch of Frank St between Brookside and Norris could use a sidewalk on the south side.

When pedestrians cross Brookside at Frank, they go from a sidewalk on the east side to dirt on the west side. There is a sidewalk on the north side of Frank St but because the pedestrian crossing doesn't connect to it few use it.
