Is it asking too much to have the Sunday drummers move to a location further away from State St? Their playground location is so close the drumming is bouncing off the walls of State St residents. I suggest the back of the hill near the Lakehouse by Edgewood Place. It's less populated with residences and not in a direct line with State St. Also, does Lincoln Park have drumming? It's much larger and if it took place near the center of Lincoln Park, I doubt it would be heard by residents. There's also Swinburne Park. Why does it have to be in Washington Park? I never see crowds of spectators. Maybe one or two people pass by. I'm sure it would gather a greater following in Lincoln Park and serve the community better.

The female brown pitbull with a white face at this address is so malnourished that it can fit through the bars of the gate on the upper tenants balcony and was on the roof of the accompanying building, walking dangerously along the edge . Her ribs are so clearly visible as well as her hip bones. It is clear she recently had puppies, but even the weight loss from recently giving birth would not lead to the extreme appearance of this poor dog. That dog doesn't have enough nourishment to keep alive much longer, let alone to care for her puppies. She needs to be fed 3-4x the amount she was eating before having a litter and it is so clear from her figure that's not happening. Multiple neighbors in our community have addressed their concern for the dogs at this residence. Please help them.
  • State St & S Swan St Albany, NY, 12210, USA - Center Square

    Hello,

I am writing to bring to your attention an issue that has been causing confusion and safety concerns for drivers in our community. The intersection of S Swan St. and State St. has a crooked road that has been causing difficulty for drivers to navigate. Since the city drew a new left lane couple months ago, it has not been uncommon for drivers to miss turns, make sudden lane changes, and cause a traffic jam by merging into one lane after the intersection.

As a concerned member of the community, I am requesting that the city draws up clear guidelines on this crooked road to help reduce confusion and improve safety for drivers.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Albany loves having all these movie and television shows filming all over because they pay them good money. However the people who have to live in these places are misplaced and uncomfortable because of this farse. The corner of Dove and State Street is a complete zoo thanks to this show "the guilded age". They are all over the streets, sidewalks, and in front of your residence. They make you feel so uncomfortable walking down your own street because they are Hollywood or whatever and feel privileged. The owners of these buildings get compensated good as well while the residents just have to take it. All people who live in the filming area should be compensated in some way to make up for this awful zoo of a production that us residents have to live with. This is not right or fair.

While this becomes a major national problem, the issue of used needles, broken crack pipes, pot pipes and lost bags of pot find there way into the neighborhood. What exactly is the City doing about this? The bus stops are typically impacted, parking lots, in front of houses and now typically human feces. What is the plan in place to address this? Who is involved? Why don’t we know about it if there is one? Mayor, good time to get out of your office walking the streets and tell us what’s going on.

Drum circle in the park. It's not bad enough they're out there all day on the weekends, now they're set up on a Thursday afternoon? I work from home. Guitars, amps, the noise bounces off the buildings on State. It's a nightmare. Can they be directed further into the park? So it doesn't sound like a grade B movie in my apartment all day? Down by the stage?

Gilded age is here to disrupt our lives, tow our cars, and block our hydrants. What an honor! Bonus points for the faux red and blue police flashing light in the window in violation of NYS vehicle and traffic law, but it's an NJ SUV so maybe they're ignorant?

Forget the fact that many parking spots were available because of the production's own no-parking enforcement in the same area.

Could a resident block a hydrant? Never, but the parking police and tax credit out of state film crews are welcome. Roll out the red carpet albany, it's time for our close up!

After writing this once I’ll try for #2 to go through! The problem continues to grow on the corner of Lexington and Washington. Fr. Peter Young’s facility has been nothing but a drug den for years. Calls never seemed to help. The facility is used by prostitutes, male and female, and transsexuals. It continues on the street and we have to put up with the mess they leave behind. Used needles have now been added to the mix. ENOUGH! The City owes the residents a safer and cleaner city and the Police need to be involved more than they seem to be. We already lost an owner occupant due to the activities that occur within this neighborhood. Mayor, running for a third term, what happened to your commitment of two terms only? Well this time let’s stand for something that benifits us all... a better City of Albany.

Even on the heels of Veteran's Day with a memorial wreath right in front of their faces, skateboarders continue to disrespect the soldiers Memorial while the funded skatepark is empty. Why be contained to a skatepark when you can skate all over any public or private property you want with impunity? Try serving your country before you damage and disrespect a memorial to those who have. This shouldn't happen anywhere but with the Veterans Hospital so close by, this area has a large number of veterans who walk by these memorials every day and are personally deeply offended by the utter disregard not only by skateboarders but by city leadership that allows it and a police department that claims to support veterans and counts many veterans among their ranks. What's next, allowing people to smack a baseball over and over into the memorial to fallen police and firefighters. Who have we become?

This grey van with North Carolina plates is constantly parked outside 46 Bradford selling drugs along with leaving garbage all over the street from selling drugs to the people coming from the methadone clinic. They are constantly sitting on the steps of 46 Bradford st shooting up the drugs this person keeps selling to them. I can't feel safe in my own backyard due to this constant drug issue.

This guy left several bags of trash after defecating all over our driveway (Biohazard Level). Prior to leaving this mess, he was exposing his genitals to several members of our community.

I was told APD's NEU division seesand reviews these requests on SeeClickFix.

This is how it looks all over this city. It is a disgusting mess and getting worse every day. Every time I go to New York City for work, I'm stunned by what has happened even to formerly beautiful neighborhoods. Every location has trash pouring out all over the street and even in locations where they've tried to store trash outside behind "pretty gates" or put locked containers in front of buildings, people have figured out how to pick those locks or break the locks and dig through all the trash scattering it over the street. There are rats everywhere and even the locked containers emit a terrible stench year-round. Plus, it's just plain ugly to have any kind of trash storage out front no matter how pretty you think you can make it. I hope that what is out there about legislator Peter and councilperson Romero discussing trash storage in front of buildings is false. That is the opposite of what this city needs and people need to represent their actual constituents not their own agenda. Rather than address all of the problems so visible in this city, some people want to pass legislation that allows the behavior that is deteriorating Albany. So rather than enforce trash storage regulations that are there for very sound reasons, some think it makes sense to make the city laws and ordinances match people's bad behavior. There is nothing about that approach that reflects leadership or common sense.
There are many ways to store trash so it doesn't smell up one's house until it's time to put it outside on trash day. And if people can't figure this out, and they insist on storing their trash outside, they need to live in an area that has garages and inaccessible places to store your trash so it isn't your neighbors problem visually or with smell, litter, vermin and bugs.
