Yesterday, 7/10/24 I was traveling south on the Pinellas Trail At the intersection of Florida Ave, the location of the new roundabout, a southbound car on Palm Harbor Blvd was able to make a fast right turn and almost hit me at the intersection of the trail The issue is twofold, first drivers in all directions are distracted by the roundabout and the traffic in/around the intersection and secondly, the southbound drivers no longer have to slow to 10-15 mph to turn a tight 90 degree turn onto west bound Florida Ave The curve of the roundabout permits turns of 20-25 mph Soon some bike rider will be hit at this intersection

Broken glass spread in an area across the width of the trail and approx 15-20 ft long Area is east of Eastgate Dr Once headed east of Eastgate, locate the gas line marker shown in the photo The glass begins a few feet east of the gas line marker and continues 15-20 ft across the width of the trail

Between N Highland Ave and Westgate Dr there are 5-7 large pieces of glass on the Pinellas Trail The typical piece is approx 4"x2" Most are on the south edge of the trail At Westgate Dr the glass is on the east side crossing next to the bollards

Glass on Pinellas Trail between Westgate Rd and Knollwood Rd This was previously reported The report was closed as completed Look for a chainlink fence next to trail Glass is on the west end of the fence, a couple of panels from the end of the fence

There is a large amount of glass covering about 100ft long and the width of the trail The location is west of N Disston Ave, perhaps 100-150 ft west of the intersection

Significant amount of broken glass on the trail between Westgate Rd and Knollwood

There are 4 street lights along the trail between SR 580 and Douglas that are not working Two of the lights are opposite each other at 580 One is near the brewery and the other next to the public parking lot south of the Artisan Bldg The 2 lights next to 580 are important as they help illuminate pedestrians and bicyclists which in turn warns drivers who are on 580 eastbound

The street light in the public parking lot in the south side of the Artisan Bldg is not working

2-3 street lights between Monroe and SR 580/ Pinellas Trail are not working

The portable electric message sign located where the Pinellas Trail crosses Live Oak prevents autos and bicycles from seeing each other the intersection Please consider moving this info sign away from the intersection The sign has no value to motorists and only pertains to trail users Perhaps locate further away from the road and closer to the trail north of the north side of the roadway

There is a large depression in the middle of the Pinellas Trail. This depression was marked with paint several weeks ago. However the depression is very large and is a real hazard to bicycles. I would appreciate if consideration would be given to either filling the depression or placing a road hazard sawhorse at the site.

The lane markings to channelize traffic turning from SB Landmark Dr onto EB Enterprise Rd are missing. The SB Landmark Dr has 2 left turn lanes. Prior to repaving the turn lanes had the channelize markings extended into the intersection.

Broken glass on Pinellas Trail. Glass is on the northeast side of the intersection of the trail and Pine St. Glass is located near the sidewalk area.

Pedestrian mat is broken

The intersection of Beach Dr and 5th Ave NE,northbound does not have a pedestrian crosswalk signal that is visible to vehicles who are turning west bound onto 5th Ave. The pedestrian crosswalk on the west side of this intersection is set back several feet and is somewhat hidden to vehicles on Beach Dr. As a result of the crosswalk placement and the absence of any pedestrian signal visible to a vehicle, pedestrians are not properly protected from turning vehicles. At a minimum, left turns should be prohibited when the crosswalk signal is "white" or "Go".
