  • Northeast Maynard Road Cary, North Carolina - Cary
This concerns the sidewalk that runs along NE Maynard Road. There are numerous problems with the sidewalk itself that constitute significant trip hzards. In addition, trees and bushes have not been trimmed and block the sidewalk from safe passage. There appears to have been recent grinding activity at various places along the sidewalk; these are incomplete and/or poorly performed.
  • 9501 Lumley Road Morrisville North Carolina - Northwest
Westgate Drive approaches Glenwood Avenue from the east. As the road passes under Glenwood, it becomes Lumley Road. Both sets of traffic lights were red at that intersection.
  • 2800 East Millbrook Road Raleigh North Carolina - Raleigh Council District B

The public sidewalk adjacent to Millbrook Road, just east of Green Road, is completely blocked with overgrown trees. The pedestrian is forced to walk onto the grass strip adjacent to the road, close to Millbrook's heavy traffic. What makes this particularly hazardous is that there are pipes sticking up from the ground that make that even more hazardous.

This is the most egregious problem, but the sidewalks all around this shopping center are partially brocked by overgrown vegation in quite a few areas.

There is an existing patch in Ray Road that is settling significantly. I estimate that the surface has sunk about 5-6 inches from level.
  • 3804 Covina Drive Raleigh, North Carolina - Northwest

Two large depressions have developed on Covina Drive immediately adjacent to Ray Road on the north side of Covina. The depressions are several inches deep in the middle. There is tearing of asphalt at one end of each depression. Each depression is approximately eight to ten feet long and approximately six feet wide at the widest.

Since these are new, they are likely caused by the many heavy trucks that have been accessing Covina Drive for the purpose of construction in the new development called Grayson Reserve. You can see the asphalt depressions and asphalt tears in the four photos I am posting. Since you only allow one photo, I have combined the four photos into one file. Hope it helps.

  • 3816 Covina Drive Raleigh, North Carolina - Northwest
There is a cable or wire running on the sidewalk for almost an entire block ... could be cable but I'm not sure. It leads from a utility box that is located between 3902 and 3904 Covina, then onto the sidewalk and down the sidewalk to approximately 3810 Covina Drive where it leads to a house. It has been there for over a week.
  • 7721 Sandy Bottom Way Raleigh, North Carolina - Northwest

On the asphalt path that leads from Lake Lynn Park to Lake Lynn, there is a low spot that has become a water hazard. From the beginning of the path at the parking lot, the low spot is 375' down the path toward Lake Lynn.

I've been walking Lake Lynn several times a week for the past ten years. This spot used to get wet the day of and the day after a rain event. Now it is wet nearly all of the time. A few weeks ago, we went through a period of ten days without rain. This low spot was wet for that entire time ... and is still wet.

I originally reported this under issue 1119194. I was able to walk Lake Lynn yesterday and the sign is still there. I took a gps fix and here are the coordinates for this sign:
    N35.874816
    W78.698769

This is the two mile marker and said that until someone removed the top.

3804 Covina Drive Raleigh, North Carolina - Northwest
On Covina Drive, on the north side of the road, the asphalt is sinking, or else the curb/gutter is rising. The road is now approximately two inches below the concrete gutter, and it extends tens of feet beyond what I have photographed.
  • 13250-13270 Strickland Road Raleigh, North Carolina - Northwest
The traffic light that controls the entrance to the Leesville Towne Center shopping center has a problem. The traffic light is an LED traffic light. As you are heading east on Strickland, the left traffic light's green light has numerous LEDs out -- approximately 1/3 of the LEDs are dark.

There is a very large (approximately 6' long x 2' wide x 2' deep hole immediately next to the asphalt walkway. Not only is this a serious safety issue, it will also cause damage to the asphalt if not filled soon. The photo has gps coordinates embedded so a more accurate location can be extracted directly from it.
