Whatever company is doing whatever they are doing in the power line easement that runs between Prominence Point & Keeter did a REALLY lousy job of keeping the resulting erosion/mud on the work site. The sidewalk here is covered with mud, and has been for over a week.

[Note: I had to move the location of this to the other side of the road. The actual address of the mud does not show as City of Canton, but I'm pretty sure that sidewalk along PPP is the City's. If it isn't, residents should be ticked that they spend money doing the grass cutting there! Still not sure that Canton's getting notified with this edit, however.]

This was reported as resolved in October, but it’s a problem again. The cleared-but-undeveloped lot next to Walgreens on Prominence Point Parkway needs to be revegetated until they’re ready to build. Big gravel is washed off the lot into the turn lane.

This cleared but unmaintained lot (just south of Walgreens on Prominence) is spewing large gravel from it's "drive" into the turn lane, when it rains. (Note: might've been a good idea to make them keep it covered with erosion-controlling trees until there was an actual plan to build on it!)

I warned that this would likely become an issue when this park first opened -- now, people have been allowed to park anywhere they want for so long, that they're trashing the grassy "overflow" area with vehicles. The grass field between the gravel road and the oval path is full of mud and tire tracks, now, and approaching unusable by anything but vehicles. I wish you'd make parking/driving here against the rules, even if that is likely to have no impact. There's PLENTY of paved parking for most situations, if people will just get out an walk a little.

UPDATE 7/28/16 - I know that this was "closed" in March -- but what was the resolution? Was this approved? Denied? Ignored? The speeding on the gravel is still a problem... Please don't "close" or archive issues until the reporter actually knows the outcome!

Could we possibly get a speed limit sign (preferably 10mph) on the gravel driveway to the overflow parking in Etowah River Park? (Both directions, please!)

Parents fly down this gravel drive, kicking up TONS of dust, and choking out everyone trying to enjoy the park. Yelling at them to slow down does nothing.

In addition -- walkers do WALK this drive, too, and drivers seem to not care about their speed even when going by pedestrians.

I realize this is probably the DOT's problem and not yours, but I'm thinking that only YOU will be able to make them (or Racetrac, perhaps?) do it: people who are not familiar with the area, who are on 20 going east and heading for the new Racetrac, think that the turn lane for Old Doss is the turn lane for the gas station. They are getting into that lane and then screwing up traffic when they try to return into the flow to proceed further to the Racetrac.

There needs to be SOME kind of signage, somewhere, telling them that this is NOT the entry for the Racetrac.

(Opinion: really horrible lack of traffic engineering in this area. I know you have gotten complaints, but it seems to be made worse anytime something new is added to the mix.)

What's the expected completion date for the closure of Keeter Road, please?

I know that this isn't the city's responsibility, but am not sure who to report it to: there's a very dangerous piece of metal rebar sticking out of a burial plot wall in the Riverview Cemetery. It's at the far back, overlooking the river, just below the grave of Kate T. Parham. Can you either let the party responsible know, or let me know who to contact?

The sink just inside the door is leaking, and has been for MONTHS. The floor is sometimes flooded as a result.

    The urinal is falling apart.

Since the country concert at Etowah River Park, when the band's lighting crew apparently left behind some light bulbs -- there has been broken glass from those light bulbs around the stage.

There is a spot on the southwest side of the park's walking loop that doesn't drain for DAYS after rain. The entire side along the railroad tracks, actually, seems to have issues with water actually running off the field, but one spot stays impassable -- the concrete is a pool, and the grass on both sides is muddy and wet. Please put some drainage in or, better yet, have the contractor come back and slightly RAISE that portion of the path very slightly!

Also -- after the recent days of heavy rain, the bottom of the 'boat ramp' is completely covered with mud.

Looks like I can only upload one photo, so ask if you want a better description of where the path flooding occurs.

    Thanks
